Study and report on the energy efficiency of multi-family buildings

In the first quarter of 2016 together with the Institute for Eco-Development we had conducted an opinion survey on the availability of support mechanisms for improving energy efficiency of multi-family buildings. The aim of the survey was testing if the instruments are efficient, what are the barriers in participating in them and what changes could be recommended.

The survey was conducted in the Mazovian region among property managers and representatives of housing associations, representatives of social welfare centers and local administration and other institutions managing the available funds for improving the energy efficiency of multi-family buildings. The researchers talked also with inhabitants of old, uninsulated multi-family buildings, who are often at risk of energy poverty.

As a result of the survey, a report was written – ‘Energy efficiency of multi-family buildings. A study of the existing support mechanisms in Poland’. Its summary (both in Polish and English) can be downloaded on the website forummieszkaniowe.org.

The report, apart from a detailed description of the survey results and its conclusions, familiarizes the reader with the notion of energy poverty, as well as contains an analyses of the mechanisms for improving energy efficiency of multi-family buildings available in Poland.

The survey was conducted thanks to the grant received from Schneider Electric.
