Key partners of Habitat for Humanity Poland:

Credit Suisse

Credit Suisse supports Habitat for Humanity all around the world (including Poland) since 2009. In 2009 there was a first corporate volunteering event with participants from Credit Suisse in Gliwice – the company employees helped building a neighborhood at Oriona St.

Since 2009 Credit Suisse constantly supports us in our projects in southern Poland. Employees of the Wroclaw office participate in about 10 volunteering events every year. In 2017 they helped, among others: renovate a Family Children Care Home in Wierzbice.

Since 2017 Credit Suisse helps us also at the projects organized by the Warsaw office. Employees of the Warsaw branch volunteered at adapting an office into emergency housing for women and children escaping home violence.

The Dow Chemical Company

The company supports Habitat for Humanity in the United States since 1983, but the international partnership has started in 1993. Since then Dow helped Habitat for Humanity in building more than 50 000 houses in more than 33 countries. Apart from financial support totaling at $70 million and regularly donated building materials, each year Dow engages its employees as volunteers helping building houses with Habitat.

In Poland Dow supports Habitat for Humanity since 2012. In the years 2014-2016 the company was a key partner in adapting an attic of a multi-family building in Praga, Warsaw into a complex of 7 supportive housing apartments for foster care alumni. In the years 2016-2017 it also supported renovating a center for visually impaired youth and an adaptation of emergency housing for women and children escaping home violence.

MetLife

Around the world MetLife is Habitat’s partner since 1997. In Poland the cooperation between the company and Habitat for Humanity Poland goes back to 2008. MetLife makes financial donations and employees of the company support our renovation and construction projects during corporate volunteering events. In 2016 MetLife was involved in adaptation of an attic into supportive housing apartments for foster care alumni. 73 employees of the company took part in the finishing works – a 6-day event with MetLife was the largest corporate volunteering event organized by Habitat for Humanity Poland in 2016. In 2017 the company supported the project of building a hostel for young people recovering from substance abuse – in two volunteering events there were more than 80 employees of MetLife from 22 countries.

Procter & Gamble

Procter & Gamble is one of the key partners for Habitat for Humanity. As a part of the global cooperation announced in August 2013, more than 3000 volunteers from P&G support Habitat all around the world, while working on its own goals of promoting social responsibility and sustainable development. The partnership with Procter & Gamble is the largest one-time corporate volunteering event in the 40 years of Habitat’s history.

In Poland Procter & Gamble initiated its cooperation with Habitat for Humanity Poland by supporting the renovation of a multi-family building in Targowek, Warsaw in 2015. Every year, the company supports renovation projects undertaken in partnership with housing associations and individual families. Until now the cooperation between Procter & Gamble and Habitat for Humanity Poland allowed to help 70 families and about 130 employees took part in renovations (as a part of corporate volunteering events).

Whirlpool

Whirlpool cooperates with Habitat for Humanity since 1999. Over the years, because of the support of Whirlpool worth more than 85 million USD we managed to change the lives of thousands of people in 45 countries.

In Poland Whrilpool supports Habitat for Humanity Poland since 2004 by making financial and material donations, but also by engaging its employees as volunteers at construction sites. In 2017 the company supported – amongst other – adaptation of an office into emergency housing for women and children escaping home violence.

Wienerberger

Wienerberger supports Habitat for Humanity in Europy and USA for several years now. The cooperation with the Polish office was initiated in 2015 with the project of adapting an attic into supportive housing for foster care alumni. The project was undertaken in Warsaw in the years 2014-2016 and building materials from Porothem were used to finish it.

Building materials donated by Wienerberger were also used in several projects undertaken in partnership with families in difficult housing situation, e.g. during a renovation of a house of Mrs. Magda and Mr. Dawid in Palowice nearby Gliwice.

Wienerberger employees support us also as volunteers – they helped, among others, expand the house of Mrs. Agata and Mr. Miroslaw in Redzyńskie, nearby Warsaw.

Wienerberger supports us not only in construction projects, but also in advocacy – initiatives, which are meant to deliver systemic change for improving the housing situation in Poland. The company is the main partner of the Housing Forum ‘Living decently’ – an annual conference addressed to representatives of municipalities, governmental administration, non-governmental organizations and businesses, experts on housing and people interested in various aspects of housing politics.

Saint-Gobain

Saint-Gobain is one of the key partners of Habitat for Humanity all over the world. The company has supported numerous Habitat projects by providing monetary and in-kind donations and engaging their employees as volunteers.

In Poland Saint-Gobain and Saint-Gobain Initiatives Foundation got involved in the project of developing 7 supportive housing apartments for foster care alumni in the Warsaw district of Praga.
