On July 28, 2017, another corporate volunteer event took place in the Family-Type Children’s Home in Wierzbice (south-west Poland) with 22 employees of the Infor company taking part in it. The volunteers helped adapt the house and its surroundings to the needs of four handicapped children living there under the care of Maciejka and Jerzy.
Since April 2017, we have been running the renovation project in the Family-Type Children’s Home in Wierzbice. This month, the Infor company – one of the most influential suppliers of business applications – has got engaged with the initiative. The corporate volunteer event took place on July 28, 2017 and 22 employees who work in the Infor office in Wrocław were involved in renovation works.
The volunteers spent 132 hours renovating not only the house but also its surroundings and did more than their best to help. They significantly accelerated works connected with laying paving blocks on garden paths (to make them adapted to wheelchairs).
Inside the house, they helped with demolition works, scraped the walls in order to prepare them for painting and insulated the attic with mineral wool.
At the end of the volunteering event, the family of Maciejka and Jerzy handed certificates of thanks to the volunteers and gave a mini concert so as to express their gratitude.

Why does Infor support Habitat Poland?
Ada Kopczyńska, HR Manager Infor, says: Our partners from Habitat for Humanity Poland presented a few proposals to us and we decided to support the Family-Type Children’s Home in Wierzbice. We want to contribute to creating adequate housing conditions for the disabled children so that they could move in their house without any problems. Our employees were keenly interested in the initiative. As the number of volunteers was limited, not everybody who was willing to join the project could do so. However, we look forward to more joint volunteering events in the future, so every employee who is interested has a chance to feel how much energy and fun you can gain from helping people.
